Inside the launch of Modern Muse bridal collection
On Thursday the 7th, 44a Bloem Street echoed with sounds of laughter, cheer and melodies of Lana del ray. Hidden in the heart of Cape Town, Elbeth Gillis hosted an intimate event that redefined how a bridal collection should be launched. Stepping into the atelier was like entering a world of high-class luxury and timeless romance. Gowns from past collections hung gracefully along the walls, while decor was meticulously curated: king proteas nestled among antique candelabras, draping pearls and cotton tablecloths covered every surface. Champagne chilled alongside delicate canapes, all set beneath crystal chandeliers and soft candlelight. It was an evening of enchantment, celebrating the debut of the modern muse collection.
As the clock struck 6, Elbeth herself took centre stage and a live showcase commenced as models walked through the atelier transforming dresses right before our eyes, a bow removed here, a sleeve or skirt removed there. It was like performance art and she had the whole crowd in awe. The Modern Muse Collection proved that one gown can be worn in multiple ways, effortlessly carrying a bride from her wedding ceremony to the after-party. This versatility allows each bride to showcase different facets of her style in a single day. The Modern Muse collection contains eight gowns, each with at least two add-ons, offering endless combinations to suit every moment. With this, Elbeth Gillis has once again reimagined what bridal fashion can be – versatile, romantic, and unforgettable.
