Lace and sleeves in winter
Weddings are for any season, even when the weather turns and it’s time to stoke fires and get out the heavyweight duvets. That’s why we love Elmien and Erik’s wedding, celebrated in Paarl, Western Cape. They held the ceremony at the Toringkerk Dutch Reformed Church, and then had the reception at Domaine Brahms.
Elmien is an old soul, and wanted a gown that was both classic and antique-looking, reminiscent of by-gone times. Custom-made, this gown uses the finest silk and Chantilly lace. As simple as it looks, the lace has to be positioned and cut just right in order to accentuate the design. The trail of buttons and the short train add just the right amount of visual interest. This long-sleeved gown is a classic – timelessly elegant.
